What it is
A season is a race between a hundred realms. Everyone starts equal: one province, the same treasury, the same army. The era is fixed in the 16th century, so technology moves through archers, crossbows, muskets and cannons but never leaves the period. A season ends when one realm or alliance holds 80% of the map, or when the days run out.
The working demo of this system opens on a desktop screen. Here is how it works:
How it works
- 01Pick a provinceChoose where your realm starts on a map of 100 provinces, then press Start.
- 02GovernSplit income across five sectors, appoint governors and keep stability up.
- 03Make friends and enemiesRivals hold grudges, offer alliances and gang up on whoever grows too strong.
- 04Fight it livePick a formation, then command the battle through skirmish, clash and the decisive moment.
- 05Win the seasonHold 80% of the map with your allies, or have the best score when the days run out.
Rivals that remember
Every rival is a local AI with a temperament: a conqueror, a merchant, a scholar, a guardian, an opportunist or a zealot. They hold grudges, attack a neighbour who is busy on another front, and form a coalition when one realm grows too strong. None of it needs a server or an API; it all runs in the page.

Battles you command
Before a fight you choose a formation and give scripted orders, such as sending the cavalry round the flank in the second phase or falling back below a morale threshold. Then the battle plays out live across three phases: skirmish, clash and the decisive moment. Terrain, rivers and fortress walls change the outcome.

A state that can rot from inside
Every new province adds corruption, administrative load and unrest. Ministers and governors have skill, loyalty and greed; a disloyal one plots, and you can give a gift, remove him or purge him. Push the taxes too far and the provinces revolt.
Testing a hundred AIs
A headless harness runs whole seasons in Node without a browser. It reports every error, times each simulated day and prints the final standings, so a balance change is tested across a full season before anyone plays it.
What it includes
- 100 provinces, each with its own terrain, people, faith and population pyramid
- An economy of taxes, five investment sectors, corruption and an administrative limit
- A court of ministers, governors and generals who can plot against you
- Diplomacy: alliances, truces, peace terms and coalitions against the strongest
- Live battles with formations, scripted orders and three phases
- Rival AI that runs in the page, with no server or API
